Chapter Four

Wow! Will considered a lot of scenarios when he was getting ready to go out with Drake that night, but somehow, having a first date at a local haunted house was not one of them.

“A haunted house?” Will raised a brow to Drake as they stood in line.

Drake gave him that damn Casanova smirk that Will loved so much. The one that had Will bent over getting fucked the first time they had met.

Drake wrapped his arm around his waist. “If you get scared, I’ll protect you.”

Will snorted. He was nervous around people, but when it came to movies or this shit, it was child’s play. “Come on, we’re next.”

Drake pulled his wallet out and paid the entry for the two of them. It wasn’t necessary, but the gesture touched Will.

Fake fog billowed out, choking them, as a black door opened.

Will waited…and waited for Drake to move through the door, but the guy froze next to him. “Are you going?”

Drake waved his hand nonchalantly toward the door. “After you?”

“After…” Will trailed off. Never mind. Will shook his head and entered. Drake followed really close behind him as they walked into a pitch-black hallway. The smoke machine made him cough, and the smell was atrocious. He could already smell the rubber of the fake Halloween masks he was sure he’d see jumping around a corner sometime soon.

They turned into the next room only to encounter a blinding strobe light. There were loud screams that Will had to holler over. “Drake?”

Drake had a death grip on the back of Will’s hoodie. “I’ve got your back!”

Will rolled his eyes. My back—yeah, because there are so many ready to come at us from behind.

Will stumbled and held out his hands as he maneuvered the two of them through the cramped hall. The first window came into view and there were old looking zombie baby dolls staring at them. Drake screamed, and Will rolled his eyes.

“They’re dolls.” Will called over his shoulder.

“Old dolls are fucking creepy. Now move past them. They’re staring at me.”

They’re staring at me? They’re dolls!

Will turned another corner to see sheets—err, ghosts—hanging in an opening. A wolf man jumped out from behind them, and Drake pulled him back toward the opposite wall.

“What the hell are you doing?”

“I hate things that jump out at me!” Drake screamed as he buried his head in Wilson’s hoodie.

“Then why are we here?” Will held his arm out.

“Because this is romantic, Will!” Drake screamed from behind him.

It is?

Will stared at a group of teenagers snickering as they passed the two of them. There were a couple of them in the same state as Drake, but overall, yeah, everyone was actually seeing what they paid for instead of hiding their eyes.

“Drake, you need to see what’s going on.” Will shuffled along down the hallway with Drake plastered to his back. He started to laugh. Never in a million years would he picture this scenario with Drake. He had envisioned a lot of things over the last month in hiding, but this was not one of them.
